No, I wouldn't. I usually take dares but they are safe dares. If I met a bee up there, I would probably panic and fall off the edge. I know my limits and abide by them. Abide means "live." I like life more:)

My first flag salute and national anthem!
by White Dove ini've come a long way, baby!
i stood for the national anthem for the first time ever at graduation on sunday.. i saluted the flag for the first time ever at a community event last night.. it was surreal and felt wonderful, like i was doing something so natural and good.. when i put my hand over my heart for the first time, it felt very strange.
i had to think for a minute if i used the proper hand over the right place.

That's the thing. They really are heros and now I can allow myself to feel it. I'm overwhelmed with an incredible sense of appreciation for what our real heros do for us everyday. I'm much more inclined to recognize actual heroic activity than an unseen entity who does nothing for anyone. I add to the human heros nature, which through it daily activity, nurtures us and keeps us alive.
Yes, it is great to be able to acknowledge those and that which keeps us alive and happy!

Sisters with Kleenex on their head
by LearningMore inso, i keep hearing reference to this.
was this just taking place in really small congregations?
i mean, i know the philosophy behind it; my mom would put a hat on to pray in front on my "unbelieving" dad.

Didn't Rutherford have something to do with calling the WTS "mother?" I think that term is in their history.

JW's reading and logic skills, or lack thereof, are betrayed in these comments.
It doesn't say that he bought a life insurance policy for his wife. No, it says that he bought three of them for her just weeks before her death. Age of person, number of policies, and timing between purchase and death are everything.

I meant to say that citizens are found more guilty than cops for killings and injuries.

Refusing to own a gun for self-defense but going ahead and calling someone else to use theirs for you is like what I see the Amish doing here. They hire taxis and vans to take them places but refuse to own a vehicle. It's hypocritical, in my book.
Yes, the police are trained better and more regularly than the average citizen who trains for the gun license, but to have someone else risk being bloodguily instead of you so you can live forever is hypocritical. Citizens are more guilty than cops in cases of killings and injuries, though, so there is that.
JW's can't become gun toting cops but they sure are quick to use them for their own dirty work.

I started college at age 30 after saying good riddance to one year of pioneering in 1997. It took me almost a decade to get my BA but I did it! Now, I'm applying to get into grad school and finish my MS in one year. Two of my college professors were in their late 20's and I am in my very late 30's. It's never too late!

I never believed that pledging allegiance to the flag was worship. I also never really felt that going to the meetings and listening to lectures and school-like programs there was worship, either. I thought about that while at the meetings. I thought that the Catholics do a better job of actual worship than JW because they have actual acts of worship, whereas JW's just sit in chairs and do nothing.
